Pathways of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Utilization and Removal from Cyanobacteria Wastewater by Combining Constructed Wetlands with Aerobic Reactors

چکیده

Due to its low C/N ratio and high concentrations of nitrogen phosphorus, the effluent anaerobic cyanobacteria fermentation cannot be directly discharged without further treatment. To effectively reduce nutrient loads utilize resources biogas slurry generated from digestion stored algae, two different aerobic treatment units (AUs) were combined with an ecological unit (EU) create systems. The AUEU systems paired a constructed wetland (CW) either cascade biological contact reactor (CBCR) or carrousel oxidation ditch (CODR). In this paper, water quality characteristics measured, comprehensive experiments on trial-treatment carried out validate their performance in removing pollutants utilizing resources. Furthermore, pollutant removal efficiencies systems, along mechanisms utilization phosphorus CWs, also investigated. results showed that aquatic vegetation, took up majority removed by absorption, which reduced concentration enabled reused plants. Biomass assimilation absorption vegetation 75.8%, 66.1%, 70.3%, 86% NH4+-N, NOx−-N, TN, TP, respectively.

Optimization of low-cost phosphorus removal from wastewater using co-treatments with constructed wetlands.

Eighteen wastewater treatment systems were operated for one year to investigate phosphorus (P) removal. Systems paired co-treatment reactors containing iron or calcium drinking water treatment residuals with vertical-flow constructed wetland mesocosms planted with Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani (K.C. Gmel.) Palla. For secondary municipal wastewater, soluble reactive P (SRP) concentrations were ...

Removal Mechanisms in Constructed Wastewater Wetlands

The use of constructed wetlands is a relatively new technology but the system is gaining popularity due to its low tech system for treating wastewater (DeBusk, 1999b).Constructed wetlands have found to be effective in treating domestic wastewater where municipalities are concerned with reducing suspended solids, organic matter, phosphorus, nitrogen, and pathogens. Constructed wetlands mimic nat...

Nitrogen removal from industrial wastewater by hybrid constructed wetland systems

The efficiency in nitrogen removal from wastewater generated at CSBP Ltd fertiliser and chemical manufacturer by two hybrid constructed wetland mesocosms was compared. The mesocosms were set up in order to help clarify the reasons why the two year old constructed wetland located at the industrial facility, a 1.2 ha free water surface/vertical flow conjugated system, has performed under the 50% ...

Enhanced nitrogen removal in constructed wetlands: effects

Four horizontal subsurface flow constructed wetlands (HSFCWs), named HSFCW1 (three-stage, without step-feeding), HSFCW2 (three-stage, with step-feeding), HSFCW3 (five-stage, without step-feeding) and HSFCW4 (five-stage, with step-feeding) were designed to investigate the effects of dissolved oxygen (DO) and step-feeding on nitrogen removal. High removal of 90.9% COD, 99.1% ammonium nitrogen and...
